Nasi Kunyit

Glutinous rice (pulut)



Garlic, crushed

Ground turmeric

Ground black pepper

Daun pandan

Hot coconut milk

Crisp fried onion flakes

Method :

  • Wash rice and drain.
  • Put into a saucepan with water, salt, garlic, turmeric, pepper and pandanus leaf for flavoring.
  • Bring to the boil, reduce heat, cover tightly and steam for 10 minutes.
  • Uncover, add coconut milk (which should be very hot), and with a long-pronged fork, stir gently so that the rice is mixed with the coconut milk.
  • Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
  • Serve garnished with onion flakes and accompanied by other dishes.
